Following the activities in the cooperation program between Guangxi Institute of Agricultural Sciences (GXAAS), China and Taiyuan University of Agriculture and Forestry, from December 2 to December 14, 2019, GXAAS successfully organized Short-term training course on advanced and applicable technology in tropical and subtropical fruit tree production with the participation of trainees from ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia- Chia, Myanmar and Malaysia. From Thai Nguyen University, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Huyen - lecturer of FOA and engineer Pham Quang Huy - staff of Center for Research and Training of Plant Breeds and Animals were sent to attend the training course.
After 12 days of learning and exchanging through classroom lectures by GXAAS's leading fruit tree experts as well as field visits at fruit tree demonstrations in the area, the students have acquired a lot of useful knowledge about advanced techniques in the production of tropical and subtropical fruit trees such as oranges, tangerines, grapes, passion fruit, dragon fruit, longan, litchi, etc. Post-harvest processing is also one of the attractive contents of the training course. Agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits are dried for preservation and processed by low-temperature drying (also known as freeze-drying). The advantage of this technology is that agricultural products are dried at low temperature, the dehumidification process is cyclic, the drying heat flow is continuous and in a closed cycle, so that the product to be dried still ensures the color and quality of the product. nutritional content.
In addition, the successful selection and planting of new plant varieties goes hand in hand with the application of key technologies in agriculture such as in vitro propagation technology, plant disease prevention and control technology, and technology. Digital and information technology, mechanization technology, drip irrigation technology and automatic fertilizer system have helped China's agriculture to develop breakthroughs and bring remarkable results, especially for farmers. with high yielding fruit trees.
