ENGINEER OF CROP SCIENCE PROGRAM 2018

I. Program description
1. Introduction
The Engineer of Crop Science Program (ECSP) is built according to the applied career orientation of the Vietnam - Netherlands Higher Education Project (POHE). The training program is built on the basis of survey results of labor market needs and forecast future needs. Therefore, the content of the subjects meets the knowledge and social skills needed by graduates; The training program is built in the direction of reducing theory, increasing practice, professional practice and forging. Therefore, students have more opportunities to practice professional skills.
The crop science training program was adjusted in 2018 with the aim of training Crop Science Engineers to meet social needs in the career of scientific and technical development in the field of Crop Science. Provide human resources with high professional qualifications, proficient skills, good health, good moral character and respect for the profession. In addition, students after graduation have the ability to continue their studies and participate in higher education such as master's and doctorate.
The Faculty of Agronomy is constantly improving and developing its facilities as well as educational and research activities to meet the different needs in the field of Crop Science. The Faculty of Agronomy always creates a modern, friendly learning environment to help learners develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills and learning attitudes, encouraging learners to learn actively, proactively and creatively.

3. Program objectives
3.1. General objective
To train engineers in the field of crop science who have professional knowledge, skills and attitudes to take up professional positions in the field of horticulture and related fields of crop production; have the ability to study or continue to study at a higher level in the field.
3.2. Specific objectives
PO1: Health training, good political and moral qualities
PO2: Good application of basic scientific knowledge, industry basis and specialized knowledge in the field of Crop Science.
PO3: Proficiently applying professional knowledge and skills to solve problems in production practice, scientific research and technology transfer in the field of Crop Science.
PO4: Improve communication skills, work independently and effectively in groups, the ability to form new ideas, think creatively, contribute ideas and take new initiatives; skills to promptly grasp the orientation and needs of society in the fields of crop science.
PO5: Have a sense of responsibility, passion and love for the job.
4. Program learning outcomes
4.1. Knowledge
1- Apply knowledge of political theory to have a good worldview and outlook on life, have a sense of organizing discipline and civic responsibility, and fulfill civic obligations to society.
2- Apply basic knowledge to think, analyze and evaluate to solve problems in crop production.
3- Having knowledge of foreign languages and informatics in accordance with current regulations
4- Apply knowledge of biochemistry, physiology, soil... to understand the principles and explain the relationship between biological factors and the production cycle.
5- Applying genetic knowledge and plant breeding, biological characteristics of plants in selecting, creating and producing plant varieties.
6- Apply knowledge of biological characteristics, cultivation techniques, plant nutrition, and management to organize crop production.
7- Applying general knowledge in management, engineering and agricultural extension to organize research and transfer science and technology in the field of Crop production.
8- Apply knowledge of management and market development to build brands and promote products along the value chain.
