On the morning of June 19, 2019, the delegation of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China visited, worked and signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOU) with the University of Science and Technology and TUAF. On behalf of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, there were Prof. Dr. Tang Qi Zhan, head of the international cooperation department, led the delegation along with the academy's staff. On behalf of the TUAF, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hung, the university's vice-rector, is the head of the delegation along with leaders of departments, faculty units and lecturers with extensive professional experience in the relevant agricultural field. The FOA was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Vice Dean and teachers of specialized subjects of the Faculty.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two units in the near future and came to an agreement on 8 specific contents in scientific research activities, namely: Testing of plant varieties new planting with high economic efficiency in Thai Nguyen; Selection of good plant varieties for production; Exchange of hybrid materials under the permission of the two governments; Registration of exclusive protection of plant varieties; organize training courses on plant breeding techniques, exchange information on scientific research; Accepting postdoctoral researchers and young scientists working at the institute.
In the contents of cooperation, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences emphasized the advantages and priority for scientific research cooperation on production and post-harvest technology for key crops of the region. Northern mountains of Vietnam such as fruit trees and vegetables. In order for this cooperation content to be effectively implemented, the representatives of the FOA discussed specifically with their partners to agree to develop an implementation plan in the near future. For the program of post-doctoral research and training of young scientists, the two sides agreed to strengthen the young teachers of the TUAF who have doctoral degrees to be qualified to study, research and paid work at the academy.
The meeting and signing of a memorandum of cooperation took place successfully, opening up new opportunities in international cooperation in scientific research for TUAF in general and the FOA in particular.
